19-year-old burgeoning star Justin Nozuka receives more great news today, as his video for “After Tonight,” the lead single from his US debut ‘Holly’ (out next Tuesday on Glassnote Records/RED Distribution) has been added to “Large” rotation on VH1, starting next week.
Nozuka will also share the screen with mega-star Mariah Carey and fellow rising stars OneRepublic in a series of VH1 Playlist/Best Buy promos that begin next week and run through May.

Nozuka has already been named a VH1 “You Oughta Know - Artist on the Rise,” a vehicle that has been cited as helping to break current stars such as Leona Lewis, Colbie Caillat, James Blunt, Jamie Cullum, John Legend and many others. Nozuka’s “After Tonight” has also been added to the rotation on mtvU, and ‘Holly’ is a Barnes and Noble “Discover” selection.

In their 4 1/2-star review, All Music Guide raves that on ‘Holly’ “the depth of [Nozuka’s] lyrics are matched by the intensity of his performances, all of which ring with emotions so true, one can only presume that he experienced them all for himself.” Album highlights include the irresistible “Mr. Therapy Man,” the starkly emotional domestic abuse tale “Save Him,” and the buoyant tale of love “I’m In Peace.”

“SIMPLE PLAN,” the long-awaited new album from Lava/Atlantic recording group Simple Plan, has made a triumphant chart debut, both here and around the world. The Montreal-based band’s third studio effort – which features the singles “When I’m Gone” and “Your Love Is A Lie” – was the Billboard 200’s highest-charting debut of the week at #14, while also placing high on a variety of additional tallies, including #3 on “Top Rock Albums,” #4 on “Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums,” and #7 on “Top Digital Albums.” In addition, the album reached the #1 spot on the iTunes Store’s “Top Pop Albums” ranking.
Internationally, “SIMPLE PLAN” arrived at #1 in Mexico, #2 in Brazil and Canada (where it came in at #1 in the band’s native Quebec), and #3 in Japan.
