The CTV Olympic Celebration is a local event that carries the spirit of the Games beyond the borders of British Columbia, and allows Canadians to join the fun right in their communities. Imagine you, your family and friends cheering on Team Canada surrounded by thousands of other proud Canadians in an atmosphere of fun and celebration. Even better? It’s free!
Simple Plan will be participating in the Five-City Olympic Celebration at the Olympic Plaza in Calgary in February. If you live in Calgary, it’s a free event so get there early! Each free event will feature live performances from some of Canada’s top musical acts, interactive Olympic- and Paralympic-themed sport zones, cultural pavilions, hospitality zones, and large video screens the 2010 Winter Games.
Also participating in the Olympic festivities in Vancouver will be Coalition’s own Our Lady Peace, Inward Eye, and The Waking Eyes.

Like so many others, Paste Magazine has been moved by the tragedy facing the survivors of the Haitian earthquake. They have launched “Songs for Haiti” (songsforhaiti.org) as a way to raise money and keep awareness high. A diverse array of artists — including Coalition’s Justin Nozuka — have donated MP3s (many unreleased) to give everyone who donates to help Haiti.
Check out Justin’s “Don’t Listen To A Word You’ve Heard,” recorded live in Amsterdam (previously unreleased) on Paste Magazine’s Haiti relief sampler, Songs For Haiti: www.songsforhaiti.org

Tune into CBC/CTV/MTV/MuchMusic/TVA or Global tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm ET and join in the Canadian effort of sending relief to Haiti. The program will precede the U.S. organized Hope For Haiti telethon that airs on all American networks. CBC Radio 2 will carry the broadcast as well.
Donations made during the broadcast will go to The Canadian Red Cross Society, Care Canada, Free the Children, Oxfam Canada, Oxfam Quebec, Plan Canada, Save the Children Canada, UNICEF Canada and World Vision Canada.
Please give generously.
